Health insurance deductible calculator 2027: which franchise pays off?

With the highest deductible (CHF 2,500) adults pay a lower premium but carry more of their medical costs. Across the premium regions it pays off in 2027 up to health costs of about CHF 2’010 a year (median; standard model, cheapest insurer per deductible); if you expect higher costs, the CHF 300 deductible is cheaper. Cost sharing is the deductible plus a 10 % co-payment, at most CHF 700 a year (children CHF 350).

Your location is only used to find your commune and is not stored.

Not included: the hospital contribution (CHF 15 a day) and the higher 40 % co-payment on certain medicines. Children and young adults in education pay no hospital contribution. A lower deductible from 1 January must reach your insurer by the end of November, a higher one by 31 December.

From what costs does the CHF 300 deductible pay off? (2027, adults)

Standard model with accident cover, cheapest insurer per deductible. «Pays off up to» = the highest yearly health costs at which the CHF 2,500 deductible still costs less in total than CHF 300. In almost every region the premium saving is CHF 1,540 a year: the law allows no bigger discount (at most 70 % of the extra risk of CHF 2,200, KVV Art. 95).
